The 2017 Board Game Games – Sunday, April 23rd from 5:00 to 8:00, youth will play a series of board and video games for a chance at winning the 2017 golden duck award.

College and Career Dinner – Sunday, April 30th from 5:00 to 8:00. Home-made meal at Jordan and Candace’s house. Drives can be arranged and diets accommodated. Please let Jordan know if you would like to come.

A Time of Prayer – Every other Wednesday at 10 am. Our next gathering is April 26th.  For further information, contact Jane Murray.

Spring Indoor Yard Sale – Friday, Apr 28 from 6 – 8pm and Saturday, Apr 29 from 9am – noon.  During your spring cleaning, please set aside clothing, kitchen items and household goods for this fundraiser.  Donations will be accepted the week of April 24 – 28 and can be dropped off weekdays from 9 am to 1 pm.

The Annual General Meeting of the Fredericton Council for Christian Ministry on Campus (FCCMC) will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the 3rd floor board room at Brunswick St. Baptist Church (elevator available). The business meeting will include highlights from the past year and a discussion of plans for the future. The FCCMC on-campus chaplain is Rev. Brett Anningson. Our Presbytery of New Brunswick has contributed $2,500 to the FCCMC budget to be proposed for this year, with committed receipts of $22,200 and forecast disbursements of $26,290.  Rev. Erik Kraglund of Saint Columba church in Saint John represents Presbytery on FCCMC, with Dallas Davis as alternate. The Annual General Meeting is open to all who are interested in Christian Ministry on our local campuses.

Refundable Bottle Drive – In support of Omar Alkreiz and his classmates on their grade 8 school trip to Quebec City please bring your donations of “return for refund” containers on Sundays and place in or beside a drop off bin at the church hall entrance.

Mother’s Day Brunch – May 13th from 11am – 1 pm at St. James Presbyterian Church.  Cost is $8.00. Menu: Quiche, Salad, Rolls, Dessert, Tea, Coffee Bake & Craft Table.

Celebration Sunday – Forest Hill United Church invites you to a service of Celebration on becoming an Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Canada. Please join us on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. for an hour of joyful stories, songs, liturgy, prayers, and balloon and streamer waving, as we celebrate our important steps towards openness and inclusivity.

Holocaust Memorial Observance – Sunday, April 30, at 3:00 pm at Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St. Fredericton A reception in the social hall will follow the service.

UCW Bridge Luncheon – Book your table now for upcoming Bridge Luncheon. Thursday, May 11th, at 12 noon.  At the Nashwaaksis United Church gym. Tables are $40.00. Contact Connie at 472-4744 for more information.

Thanks to all who have generously given refundables for the Grade 8 class trip of Omar Alkreiz. We have $248 and will make the goal of $280 due to George Street School in April. In addition, we hope to raise another $150 before the June 8-10 trip to provide spending money, two lunches and one dinner not included in the $280.

And Can It Be? Please join the congregation of Brunswick Street Baptist Church for a reflective candlelight worship concert for Easter on Sunday, April 9, 6:30 pm.  The church’s music ministries will take part in the service.  The offering will go to the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Center.  A reception will follow.  All welcome.

PAR – Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) allows you to give intentionally, proportionally and faithfully to the church even when you are not able to attend in person. PAR forms can be found at the back of the sanctuary, on the sapc.ca website or at the church office.  Completed forms and a void cheque, may be mailed to the church, dropped off at the church office, put in the offering plate or emailed to sapc@sapc.ca.  Please call the church office if you have any questions.

 The Link – Do you have a poem, story, recipe or article you think would be of interest to others? Preparations are underway for the Spring issue of “The Link”.  Please send submissions to the church office by March 26th.

 Children’s Choir – Term two has resumed weekly practices in the Fellowship Hall, meeting from 4:00 – 4:30 Friday afternoons.   All children welcome up to the end of middle school.  We sing once a month for worship services and our rehearsals include fun music related activities and the use of rhythm instruments.   For further information, please contact David or Kathie Berry.

Youth Event: The Three-Hour Film Festival – Sunday, March 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 at the church. Teams will have three hours to script, shoot and edit a video using just a smart phone. Winning team gets a prize. Please let Jordan know if you are interested.

Development and Peace – Caritas Canada will be screening the documentary “Open Bethlehem” on Wednesday, March 29th at 6pm at Conserver House, 180 Saint John Street, Fredericton.  This documentary helps bring to light the impacts of the construction of the separation wall on Palestinians and on a city that is a symbol of religious and cultural diversity. It offers an intimate look by filmmaker Leila Sansour.  The film spans seven momentous years in the life of Bethlehem, revealing a city of astonishing beauty and political strife. Feed the Hungry Buffet Supper – March 31 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The youth at Nashwaaksis United Church are engaging in the 30-Hour Famine. To launch their experience they will host a fundraiser for World Hunger. Come feast with us and help us to put a dent in world hunger. $10 per adult $25 for a family. Proceeds will support UN World Food Initiatives. Advance tickets are available by calling the church office at 458-9452 or at the door that evening.
