Get ready for The Great ADVENTureThis Friday, Nov 25th at 5pm. Pizza followed by activities for the children and church decorating for Advent. All are welcome!

Lintuhtine Music Academy – presents “The Christmas Story” this Sunday, November 27 at 7:00pm here at Saint Andrew’s Church. Monetary donation at the door with proceeds going to Oromocto & Fredericton Food Banks. With special guests Catherine Harrop (narrator), David Berry (organ), George Steeves (violin), Sidney Murgatroyd (violin, viola).

Christmas Tree Lighting – All are invited to attend the annual Christmas tree lighting at the Kingsclear First Nation (just off the highway before the exit for crossing the Mactaquac dam). The lighting will be at 6:00 pm on December 2nd by the community centre near the gas station.

Mall Photo Scavenger Hunt: Saturday, Dec 3rd at the Regent Mall. Instant cameras, instant fun! Please let Jordan know in advance if you would like to come.

College and Career Dinner – Sunday, Dec 4th at Jordan and Candace’s place in Maugerville. Drives can be arranged and diets accommodated.

Church School Youth will be participating in worship on December 11. This special service will be followed by our Annual Pot Luck Lunch. All are invited! Please bring your favourite hot/cold casserole, vegetables, fruit, bread, dessert, etc.

Volunteers Needed –  Saint Andrew’s is blessed with many volunteers.   Please consider joining this dedicated group by adding your name to the volunteer roster for 2017.  Opportunities include: Offering Counter, Offering Receiver, Greeter, Scripture Reader, Coffee Hour Host, Nursery Helper or Church School Teacher. If you are interested in helping in any of these areas please contact the office.  The new roster will begin in January.

Cookie Dough – Mission Development & Social Action Committee have cookie dough available for purchase for $10/tub.

Advent Organ Recitals – Fridays from 12:10 – 12:50pm, Dec 2, 9, 16 and 23, at Christ Church Cathedral. And, Wednesdays at 12:10 – 12:50pm, Dec 14 and Dec 21 at St. Paul’s United Church.

Advent Carol Festival –  Wednesday, December 7 at 7:30pm at St. Paul’s United Church. Local church and community choirs will present a program of new, as well as familiar, Christmas music.  This is a fundraiser for the Fredericton Food Bank; a freewill offering will be received.

This Saturday, November 19, you are invited to gather in the Church Hall.  Our invited guest, Stephen Allen, will lead us through a time of learning. He will use material entitled “The Blanket Exercise”. Coffee and conversation will begin at 9:30 with the exercise at 10:00.  At noon lunch will be served.  All are welcome.  If you plan to attend you can let us know by signing the sheet at the back, speaking to Reverend Blaikie or by way of our congregation’s home page on the internet.  If you decide at the last minute, you are still welcome as pre-registration is only intended to provide us with an estimate.  (This is a morning only event).  Stephen has been working out of our national office and is the Associate Secretary for Justice Ministry.  He will be with us for worship this Sunday, November 20.

Time of Corporate Prayer: All are welcome to come gather in the church hall this evening, Nov 20 at 7 pm for a time of praise and prayer.  Any questions can be directed to Jane Murray at 457-1251 (we meet every second week)

 The Link – Do you have a poem, story, recipe or article you think would be of interest to others? Preparations are underway for the Advent issue of “The Link”.  Please note, the deadline has been extended to November 6.

Jr / Sr High School Event – Night Games, Nov 13 at 6:30pm.  No overhead lights will be turned on for the duration of the event; all light will come from glow sticks, flash lights, electric lanterns etc. Hide and go seek, Sardines etc.

The Tuesday Morning Ladies Group – would like to thank all those who contributed to the recent church ‘Yard Sale’ that raised over $1300.

The Arthritis Society – is hosting “Ease the Pain: Seniors Take Charge of Arthritis”, on Sat, Nov 12, at the Delta.  Conference runs from 9:30 to 4 pm, lunch and refreshments included. Cost is $10.  Please see poster on bulletin board for more information.

Ten Thousand Villages Sale –  A sale of beautiful, fairly-traded gifts benefiting artisans from more than 30 developing countries. Friday, Nov 18th, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday, Nov 19th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Wilmot United Church.   Admission is free.

Fall Indoor Yard SaleFriday, Oct 28th from 6-8 pm and Saturday, Oct 29th from 9am-12 noon.  As you prepare for Fall and Winter, please set aside clothing and household goods for this fundraiser.  Monies raised will support local charities.  Donations can be dropped off weekdays between 9 am and 1 pm.
