Time of Corporate Prayer – All are welcome to gather in the church hall this Sunday, Oct 23rd at 7 pm for a time of praise and prayer.  A time to bring cares and concerns before the Lord, seeking God’s guidance and direction. Questions can be directed to Jane Murray.

Fall Indoor Yard SaleFriday, Oct 28th from 6-8 pm and Saturday, Oct 29th from 9am-12 noon.  As you prepare for Fall and Winter, please set aside clothing and household goods for this fundraiser.  Monies raised will support local charities.  Donations can be dropped off weekdays between 9 am and 1 pm.

College and Career Dinner – Sunday, October 30th at Jordan and Candace’s place in Maugerville. Please let Jordan or Candace know if you are interested.

Cookie Dough – Mission Development & Social Action Committee have cookie dough available for purchase for $10/tub – Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Ginger and Shortbread.

Needed – 15 blankets to be used on November 19th.  These will be used as part of the “Blanket Exercise”.  For more information, see the latest edition of our newsletter, The Link.  Save the date (morning).

Hymn Sing – presented by Stepping Stone Singers, Sunday, October 23rd at 3:00 pm. at St. Margaret’s Church, Forest Hill Road.  All welcome.

Women’s Inter-Church Council of Fredericton –  General Annual Meeting will be held Monday, October 24th at 1:30 PM at Morning Gate Church.   Everyone is welcome of all Christian denominations.

English Country Dance – Monsignor Boyd Family Centre on Sun, Oct. 23rd, 6:30-9:00pm. Put on by Willow Tree Community (aka Fredericton Friends of L’Arche). All ages and abilities welcome. Tickets available at the door or call 450-9343.

Square Dance – Nashwaaksis United Church Nov 5 from 7-8:30 pm. A free-will offering will be received. All welcome no matter age or dancing ability.

Children’s Choir – Practices will begin Friday, Oct 14 at 4:00pm for children up through middle school.  The children’s choir will participate monthly in worship service and during the Christmas season.  New members welcome!  For more information, please contact David or Kathie Berry.

Jr/Sr High School Board Game Games – Friday, October 14th from 6:30 to 8:30. Participants will rotate between many different board games in the church hall. Prizes for all but the top scorer will earn the coveted golden duck.

Willow Tree Community – (aka Fredericton Friends of L’Arche) will be holding an English Country Dance with live music and a caller on Sun, Oct 23rd, 6:30-9:00pm, at St Dunstan’s Monsignor Boyd Family Centre. All ages and abilities welcome. No dance experience necessary. Tickets available at the door or call 450-9343.

Square Dance – Come “do-si-do” in the Nashwaaksis United Church gym to the rhythm of foot stompin’ and hand clappin’ music. Sat, Nov 5th from 7-8:30 pm – a free-will offering will be received.  All are welcome no matter age, dancing ability, or shoe size.

This Sunday, Thanksgiving Sunday, the food bank donation boxes will be placed at the front of the church.  Please bring food stuffs to fill the boxes and hope that our donations bring comfort to those in need.

 Meals on Wheels –  Has experienced a 25% increase in need for meal delivery service in the last year. To keep pace with rapid growth in the need for our service, we are actively and urgently recruiting new volunteers. Please see poster on the bulletin board.

Conversations on Renewal

Calvin, Presbyterian Church, 37 King St. (Chatham), Miramichi, NB.
Saturday, October 1, 2016.  10:00am – 3:00pm (lunch will be provided)

Leaders:
  • Jen de Combe, Life and Mission Agency, Presbyterian Church in Canada
  • John Gilbert, Presbytery of Grey Bruce Maitland
During the day, attendees will:
  • Listen for and identify places where God is active in the ministry across the presbytery
  • Discover models of renewal from across Canada
  • Learn how to maximize congregational and presbytery resources
  • Have fun exploring ways to revitalize ministry
  • Look at ways that presbytery can support the work of renewal

Grades 6 to 12 – Jordan and Candace will be away this Sunday, grades 6 to 12 are invited to stay for the communion service.
