Ramada Luncheon:  Our annual March luncheon at the Courtyard at the Ramada is March 15.  Plan to come enjoy a lunch out with others from the congregation.  The buffet costs $18.99 (about $22 including tax but not the tip) or order from the menu.  Please let Mary Charters know by Sunday March 8 if you will be able to attend so the a reservation can be made so we may sit together.

First Friday Club – will meet on Friday March 6 from 1:30 til 3:30at the Church.  We will be working on some of the quilts we have underway.  You do not have to be quilter – come and help us, or bring your own craft project.  We just donated 5 lap quilts or baby quilts to Liberty Lane.

Please donate warm hats and non-perishable macaroni and cheese packages for the month of February to help people in need of warmth and comfort in the downtown core.

Barnabas Warming Centre (Brunswick Street Baptist Church) – Volunteers are needed to help provide a warm and welcoming environment. Sign up through ConnectFredericton.

Board of Managers – Anyone interested in serving as a Board Member, please contact Bill Cockburn.

Are you looking for a LENTEN BIBLE STUDY?The PCC (Presbyterian Church in Canada) is offering resources on “Lent for Everyone, Matthew, Year A.”  A lectionary based study on the book by the same name by N. T. Wright

There are three ways to participate

  1. Solo – read devotions daily on your own.  
  2. Small Group – read devotions daily and meet in a small group.  Discussion questions supplied.
  3. Join “Presbyterians Read Facebook Page”.  Read devotions daily and join in the discussion with participants across Canada.

For more information Sheila Black will be in the hall at coffee hour this Sunday. Sheila will be placing an order on Monday, through Parasource Marketing & Distribution, for the devotional book.  Cost is $20. Amazon could not guarantee delivery of the book but you can personally order the Kindle version  through Amazon for $8.79.  PLEASE LET SHEILA KNOW BY SUNDAY, FEB 16 if you would like her to order you a book.

Sunday, February 2 is PWS&D Sunday! It is a day to celebrate the ways our church is responding around the world to help lift vulnerable families out of hunger, poverty and oppression. We also pray for those who struggle for basic necessities and think about how we can help make a difference. Discover more at WeRespond.ca.

Annual Meeting – You are invited to come and join together at this year’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 9th following worship service.  Potluck lunch provided by Board and Session members.

Elder Election – The ballots have been counted and an ordination of new Elders is planned for the service on February 9th, the day when the Annual General Meeting follows the service. Seventy six (76) ballots were cast and 10 Elders will be added to the nine (9) members of Session who have terms expiring in later years.”

Barnabas Warming Centre – Volunteers Needed

The Barnabas Warming Centre will provide a safe and welcoming environment where guests can come in out of the elements to enjoy warm beverages, light snacks, games and movies. The space, provided by Brunswick Street Baptist Church, is located behind the church at  359 George Street and will be open from 1:00 – 4:30 pm seven days a week.  Volunteers are needed to help provide a warm and welcoming environment.  A staff coordinator will be there to support the warming centre guests and volunteers. Volunteers can sign up through ConnectFredericton

World Day of Prayer Bible Study – Hosted by the Fredericton Women’s Inter-Church is having the World Day of Prayer Bible Study on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 10:00AM at Christ Church Parish Church.
