Weddings

Weddings are a special time at Saint Andrew’s Church; we look forward look to assisting couples make each wedding a meaningful and memorable event.

Obtaining a Wedding License

Before you can be married you must obtain a Marriage License. Marriage Licenses in New Brunswick are obtained from Service NB. Couples may phone Service NB to make an appointment and both members of the couple are required to attend the appointment at the time of application. There is a cost associated with a marriage license.

Witnesses

Two witnesses, who are at least 19 years of age are required to solemnize each marriage. Witnesses are required to sign the Marriage Register along with the Bride and Groom and the Minister.

Music

Church organist, David Berry (506-453-9301) provides music direction for weddings held in the church. We urge you to contact him early in your planning. He will be happy to assist you in choosing any special music you might want. The music you choose should reflect the religious nature of a Church Wedding.

Rehearsal

Rehearsal time can be set when arrangements are made for the wedding ceremony.

Special Marriage Bulletins

The church office is pleased to help you prepare a marriage bulletin. Material for marriage bulletins may be purchased at the Lighthouse Family Bookstore, or at stores that sell wedding materials.

Candelabras

The church has a pair of brass candelabra that you are welcome to use for your marriage ceremony. If you desire to make use of the candelabra, please inform the caretaker, Mr. Ralph Graves (506-459-8407).

Arrangements at the Church

The Caretaker ensures that the church is open and ready for the rehearsal and wedding. You should contact him early in your planning. He will oversee parking and place ‘reserved parking’ signs on Charlotte St. Should you wish to have flowers delivered to the Church on the day of the wedding, please check to make sure the Church will be open at time of delivery. Photography

Flash Camera can be disruptive and distracting during the ceremony. We request guests refrain from taking pictures during the actual solemnization of marriage. Picture taking is welcomed and encouraged during the Processional and Recessional. If in doubt about time and place for pictures please speak to the Minister.

Video

We are pleased to discuss how to video record your wedding. We urge that video operators meet with the Minister in advance of the ceremony and that they agree on a suitable location from which to record the service. Our sanctuary is not set up for auxiliary lighting.

The Church Hall

Should you wish to use of the Church Hall for your wedding reception, arrangements must be made through the church secretary by calling 506-455-8220. We do not have a church group that caters Weddings.
