Yard Sale, Supper & Auction – July 23 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Harvey. Yard Sale at 8 am.  Supper is 4 to 6pm. Menu:  Barbequed chicken, potato & pasta salads, homemade rolls, assorted pies, tea & coffee.  Auction at 7pm.  Everyone welcome.

Soulful Classics Concert – Angelina Lynne, Soprano, and Emily Logan, Piano will present a Summer Concert, “Soulful Classics,” on Thursday evening, August 4th, 7:00 pm here at Saint Andrew’s.  The concert will feature Classical and Art Songs, Hymns and Spirituals, and will include both vocal and piano solos.  Angelina Lynne has performed in recital, opera, musical theatre, jazz and Early Music ensembles and is currently on the music faculty at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.   Emily Logan, from Moncton, NB, has given solo, collaborative and chamber music recitals and will begin the Doctor of Musical Arts Program in Piano performance at the University of British Columbia in September.  Both musicians have extensive experience in performing as well as adjudicating musical competitions.  Admission to the concert is by Free Will offering with reception to follow in the Church Hall.

Church Directory – The time has come to update the Saint Andrew’s Church Photo Directory.  Universal Portrait Studios will be coordinating the booking of appointments beginning at the end of Aug.  Please note that photos will be taken Sept 13th to 17th.  If you have any questions or if you do not wish to be called for an appointment, please call or email the church office.

Volunteer Opportunities at Pine Grove – Pine Grove Nursing Home is looking for individuals interested in contributing to seniors’ lives in their community. They are actively accepting volunteer applications from students, adults and seniors. Please see poster on the bulletin board for more information.

Noon Hour Concert – Wed, July 20th, 12:10pm – 12:50pm at St. Anne’s Chapel of Ease.  Dulcinaya: a dynamic duo featuring Line Genevieve Michaud, violin and voice and Carolyn Holyoke, piano.  All are welcome.

Greener Village Garden Social Fundraiser – Wed, July 20 from 6 to 9 pm. You are invited to this 2nd annual fundraiser hosted by the Greener Village Community Food Centre to raise funds for their Roots to Wings capital campaign. This is the only fundraiser the food bank hosts and it directly supports its needs as an organization: building and vehicle maintenance and upgrades, expansions, and funding for new programs and services.  Guests can expect stone fired pizzas from our outdoor oven and a wide selection of appetizers from the culinary team at the Ramada Fredericton. Live music, live painting, and fire spinning will be present as entertainment as well as a silent auction.

Summer Hymn Sing – The congregation of Brunswick Street Baptist Church invites you to join them on Wednesday, July 13, 7 pm for an evening hymn sing accompanied by David (organ) and Leah (piano) Steeves.  The hymn sing will be followed by an Ice Cream Social.  All are welcome!

Noon Hour Concert – Wed, July 13th, 12:10pm – 12:50pm at St. Anne’s Chapel of Ease.  Duo Cantilena with Sally Wright, flute and Steven Peacock, guitar.  All are welcome! Admission by free will offering.

A.C.T.S. for Seniors Coffee House – As part of its A.C.T.S. for Seniors Program, St. James Presbyterian Church (Hanwell) is now offering a coffee house to seniors and baby boomers every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. – noon.  There is no cost, but freewill donations are accepted and reinvested into the coffee house.  Come and catch up with friends, play games or cards (we have an assortment of games on hand), bring a favourite craft or hobby to work on, and enjoy some refreshments.  From time to time, the coffee house will have special themes, guest speakers or entertainment.
