Pentecost at Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fredericton, NB. We open the service reading Acts 2:1-21 in several different language and with sound effects from the piano. When we reached the part about the tongues of fire, our children came to the front of the sanctuary with 30 balloons and let them float to the ceiling … except about half of them didn’t quite have enough lift so they hovered suspended between the floor and ceiling. It was completely unexpected and simply stunning. I was just gobsmacked to the point that I lost my place in the service at one point.
