Update from the Interim Moderator re: The Call of Rev. Jon Van Den Berg:

The call documents for Rev. Van Den Berg have been received by his home Presbytery and are being reviewed by the appropriate ministry committee for recommendation to his Presbytery.  They’ve encountered some delays scheduling a Presbytery meeting to consider and approve the call due to it being summer, but we expect a meeting to be organized in the near future.  We are now aiming for a September 15 start date.

Thank You! – Sincere thanks from the Alkreiz family for the most generous donation of $1,000 by a Saint Andrew’s family toward renovation of their recently purchased mobile home at 62 Evergreen Street. A cheque for $1,130 was presented to Majed early this week, being the $1,000 plus other donations to the Refugee Sponsorship Fund that were gratefully received over the past month. Thanks also to the donor of a lawn mower. Majed is working every evening and weekend. Progress is most impressive, with drywall, windows, closets, trim and interior doors installed throughout. The city of Fredericton building permit for an estimated $19,400 in renovations is for interior work plus exterior insulation and siding but does not include roof modifications and shingling. Majed will be taking the first week of July as “vacation” from Colpitts to work continuously. He would be most pleased to receive visits and any support from people of Saint Andrew’s.
