June 4th Wear Red for Pentecost – On the first Pentecost, people from many parts of the ancient world gathered in Jerusalem and witnessed the amazing outpouring of God’s Spirit.  The festival of Pentecost is an occasion for celebration as the Season of Easter draws to a close.  The colour associated with Pentecost is red. It reminds us of the tongues of flame that appeared over the Apostles’ heads recorded in Acts 2:1-21.  On June 4th  everyone is encouraged to mark the occasion by wearing something red – a tie, sweater, scarf, etc. – or other fire-related colours such as bright orange and yellow.

The Tuesday Morning Ladies Group would like to thank all those who donated plants and books to the sale last weekend. The plants earned $900 and the books $475. Left over plants were gratefully accepted by Mission Thrift Store. Some leftover books were donated to the men’s and ladies homeless shelters.

A big thank you is extended to everyone who helped with the VBS Bake sale on Saturday, May 27th, by donating baked goods, purchasing baked goods, donating funds or helping to run the event. With your support, we raised over $250 for our VBS program. Thank you very much.
