Synod Education Workshop 2017

So the churches were strengthened in the faith and increased in numbers daily.       (Acts 16:5)

Regardless of size, whether a congregation is presently a dynamic, vigorous fellowship or is struggling to sustain its present level of vitality, every congregation may use the Acts 16:5 Initiative as a means of considering present and future ministry and of moving by God’s grace into a new chapter of life and ministry. Participants will engage in a deliberate process of congregational transformation through conversation, leadership, counsel, and encouragement using the Acts 16:5 Initiative.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action – and me!

March 6th – April 17th 2017          Instructor David Phillips

This course is intended to help students understand our denomination’s involvement with residential schools, intended or not, in destroying indigenous culture.  The course will focus on learning about our complicity and how we today might as a church respond to the Truth and Reconciliation’s Calls for Action as it specifically relates to congregations and be actively involved together with our indigenous brothers and sisters in reconciliation.
